Barone di Serramarrocco

The Barone di Serramarrocco winery is located on the western coast of Sicily in the foothills of Mt. Erice on a hillside at an altitude of about 350 meters surrounded by forests. The vineyard covers an area of about 22 hectares and the soil is characterized by medium limestone and clayey soils rich in skeleton with scattered pebble and pebble elements.

The plots, cultivated for the most part with high density farming systems ranging from 6,250 to 9,524 vines per hectare, are destined for low yield production, such as to guarantee the maximum qualitative extraction of the individual vines. The cultivated vines are: Pignatello, Nero d’Avola, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zibibbo and Grillo.

From the vineyard to the cellar every single activity is focused on retaining grape integrity to enhance their very own varietal profile. No herbicides are permitted and only organic compost is used.
